Civil Wedding in San Gimignano at the Dante's Hall
San Gimignano is a small walled medieval hill-top town in Tuscany. It is mainly famous for its medieval architecture, especially its towers. Because of its position atop a hill the skyline can be seen for several miles outside the town. There are many churches in San Gimignano, the two main ones are the Collegiata (former cathedral) and Sant'Agostino, housing a wide series of artworks from some of the main Italian renaissance artists.
The Communal Palace is currently home of the Town Gallery and at the Dante's Hall is where civil wedding ceremonies take place. San Gimignano is also famous for the white wine grown in the area, know as Vernaccia di San Gimignano. As a matter of fact, wine has been produced in the area for hundreds of years, perhaps even as early as the Etruscans.
The Dante's Hall is located right in the main square and is walkable around very easily. The hall can accomodate up to 60 people and the celebration day can be enriched by a visit to the museum after the ceremony as well as a walk around the villate which is a perfect setting for a photo feature. A wedding event in San Gimignano will be remembered through the ages.
